Unlike the double bit, which acts on the tongue, the single bit acts on the palate. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected. It can be recommended for ponies that are relatively easy on the mouth, not very sensitive on the palate or have a hollow palate. Loose rings offer a gentle contact to the mouth. They allow a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, which makes it easier to play in the fingers and limits excessive tension.
