Expert opinion : The MARCUS 3-effect bit is a lowering bit where you can hang the reins fixed on the bottom ring or with rings on the main ring and the bottom ring. This one has a weak action because it has its small rings inside the main ring so it has little leverage. This type of bit is often used to test the horse's reaction to leverage. The double snaffle allows a better relaxation of the horse's mouth. In fact, unlike the single bit which acts on the palate, which is a sensitive part of the horse's mouth, the double bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. Combination of 3 bits in one: lateral framing, leverage effect and lifting effect.

Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
