Expert's Opinion: The Verdun roller bit is a relatively thin, framing bit that protects the corners of the mouth. The rings are D-shaped and rotate only along one axis, which prevents pinching of the corners of the mouth. The branches of the D-ring make this bit more directional than an olive or ring snaffle. This bit allows optimum relaxation of the horse by playing with the rollers. The simple curvature makes it very mobile in the mouth and can help limit the horse's overt contact with the bit.
