: The bridle bit is characterised by a non-articulated barrel, and two long legs perpendicular to the barrel. At the upper end of the legs, where the bridle posts are attached, there is a curb chain. The passage of the tongue reduces the pressure of the bit on it. The pump bridle bit consists of having the limbs pass through holes in the ends of the barrel. This gives the limbs relative freedom in both rotation and translation, which makes this bit more relaxing and progressive by varying the length of the lever arm. Sold with curb chain.
