Expert's opinion: The Metalab scourier bit is a straight bit that offers a comfortable contact.
Flexible straight bits exert a constant and even pressure on the whole of the tongue when the reins are tightened. But unlike the rigid straight bit, the pressure becomes stronger on the edges of the tongue and the bars. This bit is recommended for horses that have difficulty making contact and stretching, but can be strong. Flexible bits are well accepted for sensitive horses that have difficulty accepting articulated bits.
They improve the horse's connection and relaxation. Loose rings offer gentle contact to the mouth. They provide a slight indirect contact compared with fixed rings, making it easier to play with the fingers and limiting excessive tension. Here, the 4 rings, by the play of the rings avoids the fixed points: divides the support. This net is made up of two rings that can move freely between the two rings connected to the barrel. The two free rings are attached to the uprights, while the barrel rings are attached to the reins.
Composition: rubber bits are made from soft but hard rubber and reinforced with a steel cable with a rubber effect. It is important that horses salivate when riders use this type of bit to ensure optimum comfort.
Warning: This material is vulnerable and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
