Exactly, it is the natural aging process of this alloy. It promotes relaxation by bringing a sweet taste to your mouthpiece caused by the oxidation of this alloy by saliva.

It all depends on the type of alloy, a titanium for example will tend to scratch more easily, that’s why you should always store your bit well. But don’t panic, as long as the claw is superficial, it will in no way hinder its use.

After each session:

For stainless steel, copper and titanium, all you need is a cloth, water and a maintenance product from time to time to restore the shine.

For the sweet-iron, you rinse your bit well with water and dry it with a towel (no need to take out the hair dryer…)

For leather bits, a wipe down after mounting and an oil bath (kerosene or olive oil) about once a month.

We recommend cleaning with glycerine soap once a week and a good oil bath 2-3 times a year.

L’entretien peut aussi varier en fonction de votre fréquence d’utilisation. To obtain a shiny and supple leather, a little balm from time to time will be welcome!
