Expert opinion : The Owen olives bit is a straight bit with a slight anatomical curve. It offers stability and serenity to the horse because of the constant position of the barrel in the mouth. The straight bit allows a symmetrical "left/right" contact of the hand action on the horse's mouth. This reduces the pressure through a better distribution of the pressure. This is why some riders use it as soon as they break-in. The advanced tongue passage allows more comfort for the horse as it frees up space for the tongue and allows pressure to be exerted more simultaneously on the bars, commissures and tongue. The olive bit protects the commissures from any risk of pinching thanks to the fixed ring. It offers a direct contact between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth. This is an interesting bit to help the horse make contact.
Sweet Gold: Sweet Gold alloy contains copper, making it softer. It has a pleasant taste for the horse, encouraging salivation and relaxation.
