Expert opinion : The Waterford bit is a fully articulated bit. These multiple breaks avoid giving stability in the horse's mouth which allows horses that can weigh in the hand or lean on more traditional bits to take charge and lighten the contact in the hand. The free rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, which makes it easier to play in the fingers and limits excessive tension.
Stainless steel : Stainless steel is a widely-used alloy with the particularity of not oxidizing. By their very nature, stainless steel jaws are extremely sturdy and suffer little damage over time.
