Expert Opinion: The low port full cheek bit with tongue passage has many advantages thanks to its alloy as well as the shape of its barrel. It provides comfort for sensitive horses in the mouth who find it difficult to tense up. The anatomy of the bit offers maximum space for the tongue and its tongue passage allows optimal distribution of pressure on the bars, tongue and corners. The fact that it is straight ensures symmetrical left/right contact from the hand to the mouth and eliminates any risk of pinching the tongue. All these elements will allow the horse to gain confidence in its mouthpiece and come to rest.
Its sweet iron alloy promotes chewing and salivation of the horse and this brings relaxation. The full cheek will allow to obtain an excellent lateral framing and a more direct contact of the hand towards the mouth.
Sweet iron : Sweet iron alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to get in touch with its mouthpiece. The oxydation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
