Expert opinion : The Umbria gag bit is a double snaffle bit that offers a simple contact. It allows a better relaxation of your horse's mouth by a smoother transmission of your aids. Unlike the single bit which acts on the palate, the double bit acts on the tongue without causing pain. It is important to know that the palate of the horse is a sensitive area that should not be neglected.
The bit has the particularity of using special uprights that pass through two rings perpendicular to the rings of the bit. This feature allows it to be used with two or four reins or with rings. The snaffle reins will then have a traditional lifting effect, and the reins attached to the special posts, a lowering effect.
