Effect: The Pelham is a good compromise between the weymouth and bradoon. It offers a more or less strong leverage effect according to the length of the shanks, the adjustment of the curb chain and its assembly. It leads to a cession of the neck and a pressure on the mandibles. The longer the shanks, the more important the action of the bit will be. The double jointed makes this mouthpiece more comfortable in the mouth by freeing the discomfort zone at the palate.
Advice for use: All Pelhams can be used in direct, in four reins or with rings. The action of the curb chain can also be softened with other types of curb chains such as leather or nylon. Its barrel size is slightly thinner than a standard barrel and will allow a little more finesse in what you are trying to achieve.
Blue Steel oxidizes when in contact of air and humidity creating a thin layer of rust which has a sweet taste that will naturally stimulate the production of saliva. By salivating more, horses will take the bit more. With this oxidizing process, the bit color will turn into a greyish brown.
