Expert's Opinion: The Beris 2 ring sweet iron with tongue port is a mouthpiece that offers maximum space for the tongue without disturbing the palate. The shape of the barrel frees the tongue muscle, allowing better mobility and more relaxation. The pressure is distributed more evenly over the tongue and will stress the bars and commissures a little more. This mouthpiece is particularly suitable for horses that cannot tolerate pressure on the tongue and react by shaking their head, for example. On this sweet iron model, the tongue passage is more discreet and does not disturb the palate. This mouthpiece is ideal for horses that lack contact but are irregular or occasionally heavy on the hand.

The loose rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow for a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, making it easier to play in the fingers and limiting excessive tension.

Sweet iron : This alloy oxidizes when in contact with the humidity of the mouth and the air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste which naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Consequently, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to make contact with the mouthpiece. The oxidation modifies the appearance of the bit over the course of the sessions but does not alter its effectiveness. This alloy does not require any specific maintenance other than daily rinsing with water and drying
