Our bits should be washed after use and checked for wear. If the bit has been out of use for some time, a kitchen scourer maybe necessary to remove built up oxidation.
The Barrel joint limits the nut cracker action, which spreads the pressure over a larger area of the tongue and lessens the pressure on the bars. The barrel allows for independent action on each rein. Please note, this bit exerts sharper tongue pressure than the Eliptical due to the Barrel being smaller.
The port creates relief for the tongue while the barrel joint relieves pinch on the bars, while still allowing for individual lateral aids. Bomber's development which offers tongue relief, recommended for those horses that do not settle with the happy tongue
The Ported Barrel was created to relieve pressure on the tongue via the the medium port, which creates space for the tongue. The Barrel joint relieves pressure on the bars by spreading it over a larger area and limiting the nut cracker action of a conventional snaffle.
The Loose Ring allows for immediate release and relief from tongue and bar pressure. The bit is immediately reset to a neutral position in the horse's mouth.
Bomber's developers say that it offers tongue relief and they recommend it to the horses that do not settle with the Happy Tongue.
