The Bombers Control Plate is set at 45 degrees to follow the contour of the horse's tongue. The plate sits flat on the tongue offering a kind pressure which will bring the head in.
In addition, all our bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- oxidises easily
- encourages salivation
- helps bit acceptance
- is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.

Stainless steel, laiton & Sweet iron: Bombers only uses the very best Stainless Steel. Brass is used in a some products. Most our mouthpieces are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- Oxidises easily
- Encourages salivation
- Helps bit acceptance
- Is warm and sweet
Our bits should be washed after use and checked for wear. If the bit has been out of use for some time, a kitchen scourer maybe necessary to remove built up oxidation.
