Happy Mouth offers a non-toxic polyurethane resin that gives the horse a lasting apple taste to help with bit acceptance.
> Resin bits are soft and light, suitable for young horses for breaking in or for sensitive mouths.
> Resin bits stay at room temperature.
> They offer a soft contact but are less tender and thick than a rubber bit.
> The apple taste encourages chewing.
Caution: resin bits are particularly vulnerable, it is strongly advised not to use a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
An eggbutt gag is effective with some horses, encouraging to raise the head and flex. The gag ring has two holes : one on the top and one on the bottom, through which the rounded leather cheeks pass. The top end is attached to the bridle and the other end to the rein. When the rein pressure is applied, the bit slides upward and tilts slightly in the mouth, giving pressure on both the poll and the corner of mouth at the same time. It gives a horse leverage and works to elevate a horse. Useful bit for a strong horse who tends to lean on bit or in need of retraining.
Clean with water after each use and occasionally with a special cleaning product for bits.
If you are not completely convinced by this bit, you can convert your purchase into a rental. We will refund you half the price of the bit. For more information, please go to the "Bit trial" section of your menu.
