Expert opinion : The Umbria straight rubber pelham bit provides comfort in the horse's mouth by distributing pressure points. It acts globally on the tongue and the bars. It is recommended for horses with a sensitive palate or a flat palate. The right bit allows the rider to obtain a symmetrical action. Its straight barrel encourages the horse to come and rest on the bit. It is recommended for horses that tend to run away from the contact, to dig the back, but also for horses with a sensitive palate or a flat palate. This bit has the particularity of resembling the bridle bit, but on the other hand it still has a large ring at the level of the barrel, which makes it possible to attach a second pair of reins or a pair of rings. Its leverage can vary depending on the size of its branches, the location of the reins and the setting of the curb chain. The curb chain allows you to vary the intensity of the bit. It is recommended to use curb chain guards for sensitive horses.

Vulcanite : Vulcanite is a hard material obtained from the vulcanisation of rubber, a process in which rubber is heated to a high temperature to make it harder and smoother. Soft to the touch and with a more stable temperature, this material is more comfortable than metal. This type of rubber requires the horse to salivate naturally with a bit in its mouth so that it does not overheat. Unlike ebonite, vulcanite is a smooth alloy.

Caution : This material is vulnerable and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear and tear from biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
