Expert opinion : The lock up snaffle removes the nut cracker action or pinching of the conventional snaffle, meaning less pressure on the bars. Loose ring Titanium elliptical bits rest lightly on the tongue and bars of the mouth and are often accepted by horses that have sensitive mouths and have objected to other types of bit. The locked bit is very convenient for horses that have tendancy to put too much pressure on the bit. Once the horse takes pressure on the bit, the bit will lock which will help the rider to gain control and recovering a horse that stays light in the contact.

Titanium : The titanium alloy has several advantages. First of all, it is an ultra-light bit that is soft to the touch, which makes it more discreet for the horse and therefore more comfortable. It helps to relieve tension in the cervical region. Titanium is relaxing, it promotes the production of saliva, which helps to relax the neck muscles. Titanium is coated with dioxide which makes it anti-bacterial.
