Expert's Opinion : The Beris 2 ring bit, made of leather, allows to obtain a constant, stable and symmetrical contact. It helps to make contact and is intended more for horses that have difficulty in stretching with articulated bits. The straight barrel exerts direct pressure on the tongue and bars, while freeing the palate. The fact that it is straight ensures a symmetrical left/right contact of the hand to the mouth and eliminates any risk of pinching the tongue. All these elements will allow the horse to gain confidence in his mouthpiece, to come to rest and to stretch himself, it is an ideal bit for a young horse. The soft resin encourages the horse to stretch. A light contact of the horse on his bit will contribute to improve the locomotion of the horse through the engagement of the hindquarters. The soft barrel is ideal for sensitive horses that need to rest lightly on the hand.
Loose rings offer a soft contact to the mouth. They allow for a slight indirect contact compared to fixed rings, which allows for easier finger play and limits excessive tension.
Leather : Beris leather bits are made of vegetable tanned leather and hand sewn. Leather is a natural material that is very pleasant for the horse and stimulates chewing and salivation. Leather avoids cold contact (unlike some metal bits). The production of saliva softens the leather and makes it more pleasant for the horse.
