The noseband is the part that surrounds the horse's nose. It is attached to the headpiece and allows a good stability of the bridle and the bit. There are several models that can accentuate the effect of the mouthpiece.

  • Kineton Noseband

The Kineton noseband acts on both the bit and the bottom of the muzzle like a miniature hackamore. The action of this accessory is very pronounced and proves to be effective on horses with a tendency to pull a lot. This noseband is therefore recommended for experienced riders.

  • Drop Noseband

The Drop noseband is placed on the lower part of the horse's nose. It is most often used for horses that can open their mouths and are unstable on the hand. This noseband is placed in front of the bit.

  • Combined noseband

The combination noseband is the association of two basic parts: a French noseband and a noseband which is usually removable. The adjustment of the two elements is done separately. The French noseband offers the possibility of reducing the horse's mouth opening without preventing the joint from functioning. It supports the temporomandibular joint. The noseband keeps the bit in place and supports the horse's chin.

  • Y Noseband

The Y noseband frames and maintains the horse's mouth by its chin. It is ideal for horses with breathing problems because it clears the nostrils while maintaining the lower part of the horse's mouth. The morphology of the noseband generally ensures to bypass the nerve endings of the horse's head.

  • Double Noseband

The double noseband combines a French noseband with a drop noseband. When properly adjusted, it prevents the horse from opening its mouth too wide. The two nosebands can be adjusted independently of each other to vary the effects.

  • Cross noseband

The action of the cross noseband is more diffuse, placed on the upper part of the horse's nosebone, it allows a good distribution of pressure while authorizing the closing of the mouth in a low position, it is particularly indicated for sensitive horses or those who cannot bear the tightening of the noseband at the trough.

  • Frensh Noseband

The French noseband is simple, it is placed two fingers below the zygomatic process. It offers the possibility to reduce the opening of the horse's mouth without preventing the articulation from working.

  • Large Noseband

The French noseband is simple and wider, it is placed two fingers below the zygomatic process. It offers the possibility to reduce the opening of the horse's mouth without preventing the articulation from working. Very often, it has a pull back curb chain.
