Straight Bits

The straight bit exert a constant and regular pressure on the whole tongue, the bars and the commissures. They can be soft or hard depending on the model. Compared to a double snaffle bit, the straight bit releases a little more pressure on the bars. The stronger the rein tension, the greater the pressure on the tongue and lower jaw. It is recommended for horses that have difficulty making contact.
